Conversion Funnels
Traffic is a cost. What happens in the ninety seconds after the click is what decides whether it was an investment.

The offer does most of the work
When an account is underperforming, the instinct is to redesign the page. Occasionally that helps. Far more often the page is fine and the offer has no edge, because it is the same offer as everyone else in the market.
| Default offer | What replaces it | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Free quote | Photo estimate, no site visit needed | Removes the real objection, which is letting a salesperson into the house |
| Contact us | A specific diagnostic with a named output | Promises something concrete rather than a conversation |
| Get started today | A dated constraint tied to something true, such as scheduling capacity or a seasonal window | Gives a reason to act now instead of in three months |
| Best prices in DFW | A guarantee that names the specific failure the buyer fears | Price claims are unverifiable and everyone makes them; risk reversal is checkable |
The constraint on all of these: the offer has to be true. A manufactured deadline that resets every week is noticed, and it costs more in trust than it gains in urgency.
What we build
VSL funnels
A video sales letter that does the qualifying and the trust-building before the form. Effective for higher-ticket work where the buyer needs to understand a process and see proof before they will give you their number. It also removes the dependence on one persuasive salesperson being available.
Quote and photo-estimate flows
A structured form that asks for photos alongside the details, so the job can be scoped before anyone drives anywhere. Completion rates are higher than a bare contact form because uploading photos feels like progress on the buyer's problem rather than surrendering a phone number, and it removes a large share of wasted site visits.
Direct booking flows
For standardised, lower-ticket services where the buyer knows what they want and any friction is pure loss. Straight to a calendar with the qualifying questions embedded.
Proof assets
Before-and-after galleries, project walkthroughs, and specific outcome stories. In service work the buyer is assessing risk more than price, and proof is what lowers perceived risk.
Where funnels fail
- Nobody answers the form. A converting funnel that feeds a six-hour response time converts strangers into someone else's customers. This is why funnel work ships alongside the response layer.
- Paid traffic points at the homepage. A homepage serves every audience at once, which means it serves none of them well. One intent per page.
- The funnel is not wired to the CRM. Submissions that do not create a trackable contact with its source attached cannot be followed up systematically or attributed. See CRM infrastructure.
- It asks for too much too early. Every additional required field costs completions. Ask for what you need to qualify and book, and get the rest in the conversation.
Common questions
- What is a conversion funnel for a service business?
- The path from a stranger seeing an ad to a booked appointment: the offer that gives them a reason to act, the page that carries it, and the sales experience that qualifies and books. For service work it is usually shorter and more specific than an ecommerce funnel, because the buyer is deciding whether to let someone into their home or onto their site, which is a trust decision before it is a price decision.
- Do I need a funnel if I already have a website?
- Usually yes, and they are different things. A website serves everyone: existing customers, job applicants, people checking you are real. A funnel serves one visitor with one intent and removes every other choice. Sending paid traffic to a general homepage is one of the most common and most expensive mistakes in local advertising.
- What is a photo-quote flow?
- A form that asks the visitor to upload photos of the job alongside the usual details, so an estimate can be prepared or roughly scoped before anyone drives anywhere. It raises form completion because it feels like progress rather than a request to be sold to, and it cuts wasted site visits substantially.
- How much difference does the offer actually make?
- More than the page design, and it is not close. In most underperforming accounts we inherit, the page is fine and the offer gives a stranger no reason to act today rather than in three months. Changing 'free quote', which every competitor also offers, into something specific and time-bound moves conversion further than any layout change.
- Does a funnel replace the sales conversation?
- No. It qualifies and books, so the sales conversation happens with someone who already understands what you do, has seen the proof, and has self-selected on budget and timeline. That is a very different call from a cold one, and it is why funnel work and the AI response layer are usually built together.
Sending paid traffic to your homepage?
That is usually the cheapest fix available and the one with the fastest payback, because it improves the return on spend you are already committed to without increasing the budget.
